Fambirai Monthly Newsletter – February 2025
Here’s your AI briefing for February, and wow—a lot has been happening! We’ve got billion-dollar power moves, AI shaking up finance, and a few creative controversies to keep things spicy. SoftBank is looking to drop a casual $40B into OpenAI, while Elon Musk, not one to be left out, tried to buy the whole thing for $97B—only to get shut down. Meanwhile, DeepSeek claims to have trained a GPT-4 level AI for just $5.6M, sending Nvidia’s stock tumbling.
Elsewhere, the EU just banned emotion-tracking AI and shady website practices, marking a major shift in AI ethics. Over in creativity, Marvel denies using AI for a botched Fantastic Four poster (despite some very suspicious extra fingers), and Christie’s first AI art auction sparked protests. On the consumer side, Apple is teaming up with Alibaba to bring AI-powered features to China’s iPhones, while Google is testing AI age verification—so good luck sneaking past that one.
Plenty more in the articles below, including AI breakthroughs in healthcare, banking, and quantum computing.
Fambirai in February
Beyond tracking AI’s rapid developments, we’re actively engaging with industry leaders. We recently ran exclusive webinars for AI leadership groups and have summarised key insights - read the takeaways here.
We also provide training and AI strategy advice globally, from ChatGPT and Copilot training for beginners to AI implementation consulting for businesses scaling their AI use. Here’s what one of our clients from March had to say:
"Fambirai's training was exceptional. The session was comprehensive, engaging, and tailored to our team’s needs. Not only did the trainer break down concepts in an entertaining and accessible way, but he also provided practical, real-world applications that led to immediate improvements in how we use the tool effectively and securely. The training opened our eyes to an incredible number of use cases, many of which we hadn’t even considered, making us much more confident and efficient in integrating AI into our workflows. Looking forward to continuing to work with Fambirai and exploring even more ways to maximize the power of generative AI."
Ben Simonds, Managing Director of Communications, Climate Advisers
Later in March we are running a one-time free 90-minute ChatGPT training session for up to two people per organisation so that you can check out what our training entails - register your interest here and we'll notify you of the dates.
